SABA KHAN

Introduction SABA KHAN from New York  ---- Today's make up for today's face to its perfection at La Meche.

The new rules of sophistication are alternative and experimental and new  entrant Saba Khan is pushing the concept with a vengeance. With fun being an integral part of her style philosophy, she plans to turn the beauty turf into place to frolic. With big ideas and a clear creative vision she seems all set to take the scene by storm. Here the La Meche lady discloses her inner mystic to all you style seekers out there and bares the beauty secrets that makes the grand dame a geezer.

 1. Who cuts your hair?
  A.
Asad Baig

  2. How do like to wear your hair?
  A.
I like  to tie it upwards in a french twist.

3. Wildest hair-do ever?
A.
When I was in school in the States, I tried Afro-braiding my entire  head. It took four hours  and as soon as i looked in the mirror and saw a confused teenager with antennas sticking out her head, I unbraided it!

4. Worst hair misadventures?
A.
I got it cut very short, boy style and hated it.

5. Wardrobe wise?
A.
Shalwar kameez or blue jeans and a white man's shirt is my favorite garb.

6. Beauty regime?
A.
Regular cleansing ,I never sleep with my make-up on. I prefer to use natural ingredients, out of refrigerator to cleanse.

7. Cosmetic must?
A.
I rarely ever wear make-up.

8. Decade that appeals to you?
A. Mid 70's and 80's appeal to me the most. They exude fun and frolic and are accessible for every era.

9. Designer that cuts your look?
A.
Maheen.

17. Temper gal or cool cucumber?
A.
Defective personality! To me everything revolves around dignity and honour and commitment even if that means losing out on opportunities.

18. Unwinding means?
A.
A cup of coffee and listening to light music, mostly Jagjit Singh. If that doesn't work then the other alternative is Stitching.

19. Wise words?
A.
Everybody should take care of their skin. People come to my salon after a month to get  facials and they want to look glowingly beautiful when they leave. But that is not clients to take care of their inner self by taking the right vitamins and then I'll take care of their outer beings.

20. How does she feel here after working and living in the States for more than 20 years?
A.
One thing  which I can't reconcile with is the total apathy towards punctuality here. Time is not valued. Some of my customers come late, and don't even bother to apologies. I can accommodate them to a point, but not when their late comings clash with my later appointment. In the USA people are very punctual, they cant afford to be otherwise. Also they are not hypocritics.

10. Beauty guru?
A.
I think everybody in Pakistan is avant garde in their respective field.

11. Fave Celeb?
A.
Michael Douglas.

12. Classic beauty?
A.
Sophia Loren.

13. Your make-up mode?
A.
Light and minimum.

14. The make you swear by?
A.
Chanel.

15. Is sunscreen a must?
A.
Of course! Can't do without it! Johnson & Johnson works best for me.

16. Purse contents?
A.
Miniature perfumes are a must cause I like  to smell exotic, all the time.

She says," It was gratifying to see that a young Pakistani girl called Kiran got the first  position in the field of nail art," plus she added," It was a great  experience interacting with cosmetologists from other countries in the  two regions. One learns a great deal on such occasions.
